My twin sister gave me some hardy hibiscus seeds four years ago. I got eight seeds to germinate. They started blooming the second year. Each year they got taller and fuller. They are pink, hot pink, and white with red eye. I collected about a pound of seeds. If anybody would like seeds, send me a PM.

Don, are the Hibiscus plants surviving your winters there in PA? With or without protective efforts on your part? ..................Hank

I don't do anything to them. In the spring I cut the old stems. They sprout out of the ground.

Those are beautiful Don, you have such a nice twin sister.

Hank, the Hardy Hibiscus will survive up to Zone 4 (Zone 3 also with protection) and come back from the ground in late spring/early summer. they are one of the last plants to emerge from dormancy.
The Tropical Hibiscus on the other hand is grown as an annual or taken inside in winter in the north.

Your flowers are pretty. Nice of your twin to share with you. My Mother was a Twin-born on my GM Birthday.

Don, Have you been to Gilbert's Garden Center? It's just north of you. That's one of my favorite places to go. They are rebuilding from the floods this year but should recover by Spring.

I think we keep hardy Hibiscus here. I have a few that have come back for a few years.

Yes. They started blooming the second year and have bloomed every year after.
