What made me think about this topic was someone on here who has an old ice cream maker. Just made me think about what I had before...the only person in my neighborhood who had a sink in the ground for the frogs, birds & plants....i also had a toilet filled with plants...wheelbarrow with roses; a huge square pot with a narrow wooden chair with the seat out of it...grew hibiscus through it and sweet potato vines (magarita & the deep purple together)that spilled out all over the yards at the foot. I no longer have pics from moving but hopefully I can look at yours!

I've got my bathtub, bathroom sink and toilet ready to be placed as soon as we get the top soil hauled in. Can't wait! Been picking out flowers for days on line to see what will do good in mostly a shaded area. I'm so excited, I think about it while trying to go to sleep at night.  This will be my baby while the veg. garden will be my husband's.

I bought this "chair" to plant petunias in this summer. You can find "interesting" things to plant in at thrift stores.
I always have a pot of flowers in my purple car each summer.
These petunias are planted in a metal watering can that had a hole in the bottom.

I think about my flowers when I'm trying to fall asleep too  I plan what will go where, what colors in the petunia basket, what should go on the porch... The possibilities are endless. Much more exciting than counting sheep!  
I don't have anything unusual other than the big old truck wheel that I planted tulips in last year

I have stuff in my dad's old wheel barrow. Not unique by any means.... but visitors seems to like it.

the wheelbarrow photo is from a couple of years ago.
Right now it's pretty bleak. Hey... that gives me an idea! While I'm waiting on spring to do any planting... I can go ahead and clean this up and get some annuals going.

Don, perhaps you could put pot-hos in the chair rather than pee-tunias!
Cheryl, you are the least boring gardener I've ever heard of (although Toni is giving you a run for your money in the "imaginative use of stuff" category).
I don't have any interesting containers. But I sure do enjoy looking at the ones y'all have!

Yesterday I found a large hollowed out tree limb I'll be planting something in. I want to find a hollowed out tree stump to use as a planter. I also found a canvas bag, like they have at the grocery stores for take home that will make a cute planter and a friend gave me an old pair of boots. We're having an old western building brought in to set by our bonfire ring that our bike club is no longer using. It has a board walk and hitching post and all. Can't wait to get it over here! This following picture is one thing I'll have by it.

I have two wagons, not looking very pretty in winter but just wait until spring ...

Three Wheelbarrows, two out back filled with Henbit that need a lot of work this spring and this one out front with Mint, Sweet Flag and oh yeah some Dandelions I forgot to pull up...needs more plants this spring too.

Last fall I re-purposed a bent wheel from my car after daughter hit a curb because another driver pulled in front of her causing her to swerve to avoid hitting him. It has a Lantana 'Dallas Red' in it....

I find old coal scuttles at thrift stores and use them to hold weeds I pull up and when the bottom finally rusts out I plant in them, this one holds a Lavender..

I have two of these Olive Oil cans for this years Basil and Oregano and the coffee bag will hold Alyssum I think since I don't use sugar in my coffee that's the closest sweetness will come to it.

And these will line the path in the front garden this year they will all be planted assorted plants..oh and that old cowboy hat on the back right...

Plus I have a number of round washtubs as planters and a collection of assorted sizes of black plastic cauldrons that I buy at Halloween. There is also a square washtub out back planted with a Spiderwort and my water garden in the old washtub on a stand.
