If anyone has a pond question, please feel free to ask away. I don't know much about fish diseases, so you may be better off on that front taking your sick fish to the pet store where you bought it. Other than that, ask away.

A piece of cake, Richard. Aquatic plants are weeds. The biggest problem with them is keeping them in place or they will crawl through the cracks in your house and attack you in your sleep.

Jan I have a question for you. Each year I cut my pond plants down to water level - is this the best thing to do or should I leave them to die back on their own? They do keep coming back year after year so I'm keeping my fingers crossed than what I'm doing is OK.

If what you are doing works, then it is right. Actually it is exactly what I do. Louisiana irises need to be cut back earlier, like August/ September, but the rest at the end of the season.
