Wow, you did a good job and they look great. I love ferns and watching them grow. I tried this about a year ago except I used Ceratopteris richardii and started the spores in a petri dish filled with agar. They got to be a little smaller than your third picture. They were doing great until I accidentally knocked them over and buried them in their own soil. I tried to save them, but it was too late. Ever since, I have wanted to try it again, this time without knocking them over. Razz

This is a petri dish filled with agar also called an agar plate.

( photo / image / picture from FlowerFreak22's Garden )

It is often used to culture bacteria. I germinated the fern spores on one. When they developed small roots that protruded into the agar, I cut the agar around the roots and transplanted them into soil where the roots grew threw the agar and into the soil.

Just the shear volume you have was all worth the wait I'm sure, not to mention how healthy they all look.
