Common name: African Violet
Latin name: Saintpaulia
Family: Gesneriaceae
Genus: Saintpaulia

Popular houseplant native to Tanzania and southeast Kenya. Easy to maintain and blooms all year round. Bloom colours include pink, red, white and violet. Very susceptible to overwatering so be careful with watering frequency.

Sunlight requirements: Sun / some shade. Try to avoid direct sunlight which can cause blemishes. Not enough light can cause lack of flowering.
Watering requirements: Keep soil moist at all times. Do not overwater.
Humidity: High
Soil: Well drained
Propagation: Leaf cuttings, seed
