Today, I planted the peppers and tomatoes outside. Cross your fingers that we don't get more cold weather. Remind me to check the weather every evening for night time temperatures.

Peppers went into the triangle in the front yard.

This is where the tomatoes were planted. I had 24, eight Roma, eight Early Girl and eight Celebrity. I ended up with 29 as some had more than one in the pot. The flower pots and buckets were moved to the small bed which will become the herb garden. I'm thinking I'll start the herbs in the pots instead of directly into the ground.

I think you're safe from freezing temps for atleast another week. I just hope all this expected rain don't wash them away.

While the temperatures will be O.K., heavy rain in your area is forecast for the weekend.

I thought of the rain but they were in those plastic four paks and they were getting way too big to stay in them. I couldn't keep them watered enough and the leaves were starting to yellow on the tips. We have really sandy soil here and I had to add some good soil when I planted them. They should be okay unless we get some hail. I saw the temps were going to be above freezing the next ten days and that will bring it to the 16th of March so maybe they will do okay. I've got a lot of stuff planted so I hope the yard doesn't flood. I know the road will.

I couldn`t wait either. I planted two six packs in the small garden and have another 6 waiting. Going to wait a while on peppers since they like it warmer.
Hopefully they will not wash down to the creek.

I'm champing at the bit here in central Texas. I have lots (over 50) tomato plants hardening off, and about 20 pepper plants (like Dooley, I have two in some chambers--I don't thin as I should).
I'm waiting until next week--if we get the rains that are predicted, I don't want my little tomatoes out in the storm, and the peppers need to wait a bit.
I just planted pole beans--does that count?

Yes, dooley. I'm in the same situation. I ordered my seeds in December and started them January 2nd. Fortunately, the peppers are small enough to keep indoors but my tomatoes are getting to tall.

So, I'm putting them out tomorrow under those Wall-o-waters. The heavy freezes are over here in the desert Southwest but there could be a few frosts.

I really need to practice some patience. There's no need for me to start summer seeds before the 20th of January.

I kept my fingers crossed and I guess everyone else did too because the peppers and tomatoes are standing tall.
They have wet feet but I think they'll dry out if it doesn't rain again until Wednesday like it says and then it says only 30 percent. That one kept it's flower through the rain. It's an early girl. I have 8 roma, 8 early girl and 8 celebrity. I have 8 sweet green peppers and 8 yellow banana peppers planted now.
Plus, beets, spinach, swiss chard, arugula, pak choy, green snap peas, radishes, summer squash, red onions, bush beans, wax beans, and raddicio.
I still have pole beans, cucumbers, carrots and herbs to plant. Plus nastursiums, marigolds and cosmos.
They will wait until the rain stops.

You are way ahead of us in Wisconsin. However we have an early spring as well and I have already planted peas, radishes, spinach and lettuce.
