Don't worry darlin', when spring hits and you've spent 14 hours outside digging and delving, you'll sleep! You might even make it to your bed :smt015 .

I hear ya hummerbum! My garden area, that basically just surrounds three sides of my patio, is not real large. I grow mostly annuals and spend half of every winter working on the layout. I must change my mind dozens of times :) Fortunately, it's all done on the computer so it's not hard to make the changes. Funny thing is, when it's all finally planted, it seldom really matches my meticulously planned layout anyway.

I hear ya! When I was trying to decide my layout last winter for my brand new garden... it was all I could think about! I had a slight advantage, because my plants were in containers. So I knew what I was going to be planting (mostly). Just picked out what I thought was the best location and took it from there.
Well... it looked good on paper! :D Some things didn't like where I put them. After a year, I realized that some were totally in the wrong location because of size. So, this past winter, I was losing sleeping planning on what to move and of course now I have to get new plants to start filling in! Oh what the heck... sleep is over-rated, right? :D

My goodness!!! This is sooo exciting!!! And when I get home every day there is a different catalog in the mail, so what happens, I rush through whatever I have to do that evening and settle in my bed with that catalog...then its on my mind when I sleep!!! LOL..The worse/good part is that I have become excited once again after a long 3 years...Give yourselves a Hand because you all have brought that back to me with your expertise, laughter, kindness and just plain ole silliness on this site...because of your pics, forums and craftiness "I CAN'T SLEEP"!!!! :-D

I'm in the same boat.It is more than a hobby for me.I've always been this way. I sometimes feel superior to people who are always looking for some exotic place or a cruise to go on. What makes me happy is right here. My spouse,my pets & my plants.

Hummerbum I don't even start thinking about such things until the end of April. I would drive myself nuts with our growing season not starting until the middle of May or the end of it. ;)

I have things drawn out. And change my mind. Jerry says they look fine. But I want color all season long.Want to move divide plants. So if the get ratty will be in back. Was going to do that this year. Ran out of energy and time. Doing FUN things like ripping off siding, scraping and painting house.

Ok everyone...I am officially sleeping at night now!!! I spent pretty much the whole weekend cleaning out the garden/break area that I use at work..raked, laid out weed block, removed mislaid tile (digging them up with scissors cuz i didnt have a shovel..lol) and all that was Saturday. I went home and iced every part of my body that was screaming..legs/hamstrings & back...and it felt soo good. Sunday went back and laid a little more weed block and tile (looking good)....potted many plants and did a little more raking!! Much better on the body yesterday..
With all the pain...it was more than worth it. Felt soooo good to be really out there..it has been 5 years since i've been on the ground...lol.
I will post some of the work in progress a little later..
