I was reading on google where a person said you can root stems of petunias in shade. Has anyone ever done it? I might try it but just thought I'd ask. :-D

I haven't heard of rooting them this way before. The only way we did it when I was in school( a loooong time ago) was a mist bed and rooting hormone. Nor do I think it will really work this way. They wilt very quickly/easily, so I would be skeptical to think it would work this way.BUT there is no one to say you can't try it your self.

I root petunias all the time. Just do it like you do any other stem cutting.I keep them out of the sun because I put a clear plastic cup over them to keep them turgid.
