I too have had excellent work done (like the retaining wall/garage earlier this summer), and I think this will end up being pretty good work in the end, but not top notch, there are small imperfections that won't get fixed because the crew wouldn't make any money if they took the time to perfect every corner on every j channel, and I realize that and am not expecting that. But no one will probably know but me unless they look closely. I'm really not that picky, just where it really counts (like entry door trim), and where there's holes & gaps that don't belong, trim not on straight, things cosmetically "cheap" looking if done wrong. There's less room for imperfections at eye level than 20 feet up.

I'm actually not a fan of vinyl siding on most homes, but this home really has no specific style or character, so I think it will work with the wide 7" siding that "belongs" on a 60's ranch. The decision to go vinyl has been one made with hesitation on my part, that's for sure. Getting the single lap siding instead of double or triple has helped, I think it looks less like vinyl siding that way.

Day 4 Photos. I hope they can finish up this week, but I'm kind of doubting it.

They're making good progress, I think. Is this the last piece of the renovation?

Yes, this is the last one for now. We have to put in a new driveway, it's quite terrible. But that's not in the budget for a while.

Maybe, now that the end is in sight, you'll be able to relax a little and have some time to yourself. I love what's been done - your home now looks brand new!!

Day 7...still not finished though! Still have to cover all the fascia boards at the roof line. Then, another crew has to come back and install the leaf guards for the gutters.

The pizza delivery guy was lost and couldn't find our house. So I mentioned to my husband that maybe it would be a good idea to get our house numbers back up. One needs his pizza! So, he put them on today. I'm happy with the way the plaque turned out, something different than the norm.

I love where you've put your house number - very classy. The flag is a nice touch. Now that pizza boy won't ever be confused again. :stew2:

The siding is done! This is the last really huge project for the summer (still have a few smaller projects). Time to have a party! Also time to start saving money for a new driveway, sidewalks, back patio, and garage floor. Those things will get a new post, I think it's time to retire this one.

Best of all...the garage is now officially "saved".
