These are pics of an oak trestle table my husband recently finished. It was custom built for a couple with a small breakfast nook. They gave him a picture of sort of what they wanted and the measurements for the size. They also requested the "S" on both ends. They are using old church pews for seating with it. The first picture shows the true color. The picture of just the top is darker than the actual table. (Imust have been standing in a different spot when I took it.)
This is why my husband does very little gardening - he would rather work with wood and is very good at it.

That is so very pretty It would be much prettier with an L on each end.
He is really good at his hobby also.

Very nice Polly. Tell your hubby to continue with his hobby because he obviously has a talent for it. Maybe a gnome at each end would have been awesome though
Thanks for posting.

Lovely. I don't know anyone that wouldn't love a table like that.

Thank you all for the compliments. In answer to your question wannabee, it's hard to say just how long it would take to build. My husband is disabled due to a head injury from a fall from a second story roof two years age so he works at things as he can. Some days his attention span and stamina aren't very good. He worked on this table over a period of two weeks.

I think it is wonderful. I'm not disabled and I couldn't do that in two months. Everyone has a special talent. I just haven't found mine yet. He has found his and it's great. Dooley
