pea plant like, purple flowers on tall stalk

    My son in Virginia sent this photo of a neighbors flowers near Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. I thought it was a "sweet pea" but wasn't sure!

    That's a Lablab purpureus (Hyacinth Bean) very easy to grow. The flowers will fade and fall to be replaced with dark purple seed pods. The seeds are black with a white strip.
