Have you ever been asked to make something that just sounds awful to you?
We recently hostessed a get-together for several of our local churches, and I was asked to help with the desserts. The recipe, which had been served before to raves, included a pressed crust of butter, ground pecans, and flour. That part was okay.
However the recipe also called for a layer of pudding, a layer of pseudo-whipped cream, a layer of sweet fruit pie filling, with the whole thing covered with more of the pseudo. It was so sweet it made me gag to just think of it!
I made it, served it, but didn't eat any. It looked okay but I sure didn't want to eat it.
Have you made something "on demand" that you really didn't want to eat (or make again)?

Jane that is funny! I am right there with you....Jello with VEGETABLES shredded and gelled in it...GAG! :smt078 We have a selection of choices for church meals that are prepared according to what the family whom the meal is for (such as baptisms or funeral)chooses. This is the one choice I won't volunteer. NO WAY NO HOW!

The only thing I remember about the cooking semester of Home Ec in 9th grade was having to make an Aspic. Clear gelatin, hardboiled eggs, shreds of chicken and veggies of some sort.
I made it but refused to taste it and have never made it again.

Sounds like a truffle gone astray. I'm sure there are many ways to make one, with real fresh ingredients. :)

There are a few things people generally love that I dread, green bean casserole & candied yams. Won't eat either one.

I think Jerry Sullivan means a Trifle, a layered dessert not a Truffle, which is a decadent piece of chocolate, and to die for in any language.. lol

Oh Jane... what a terrible ordeal.
    I can't think of anything that I've cooked that I wouldn't eat.
I have however cooked something for someone and THEY wouldn't eat it! :D

Um.. I cooked some fried chicken gizzard but I would never put a piece of it in my mouth. However, my brother loves eating it!
