Now there is a question Eileen...what to do with them all?! Well, the family aren't crazy about the taste of squash, although they love curried pumpkin soup, pumpkin bread and spicy pumpkin pasties, soooooooooooooo, mostly, they are for fun. I have the room on the allotment, I love to grow things, and the kids and Mark get a real kick out of seeing them all developing, guessing colours, and then displaying them at home. Some will be carved through the autumn and winter, for halloween and Christmas.
Here is a photo of what I was left with this spring just passed. I grew an awful lot more last year, but we didn't have the long drought mid summer last year like we have this.
