this is the corner as you walk in..
maybe do a mirror here with a table underneath ,, the doll is not staying. The corner ,thats where we were thinking of a small octogon fishtank
not sure though...
we are tying to see if this should just be a walk in area ,, or a like a quite area?
thats why im trying to get ideas and thoughts before we start adding any more furniture ,pics decor so to speak... trying to get and over all theme feel for the room... its an impotant room as well..
thanks,,
all thoughts and ideas are appreciated

In the last photo I think a mirror would look great on that wall. Personally I wouldn't put a fishtank in the corner, I would put it somewhere closer to the light of a window so I could see the little fishies better.

Can I just say that your decor is the girliest I have seen in a while sunflower. Pink, flowers and dolls - definitely no detective work needed Smile

Thank you for the reply...
I collect porcelain dolls all though i may not keep them in that room i don't know i haven't collected in a while, its get expensive.
I have lace under those curtains, there again i may not keep those up there either.
We have been here only three yrs so at the time they went well with the plain walls not the walls are a lite coral color now.
The reason i was thinking the corner for the fishtank is because there is more room on the larger side, also it doesn't get direct sun shining on it.
That is a very sunny window...
you think the mirror would look good on the coming in wall then?im trying to think of different ideas i can use for that room. The table big would stay then corner shelf maybe but not the one with the doll on it.
i was thinking of putting table with something on it under the mirror...

I think we are going to attempt to strip the mirror and put a wood stain on it hopefully that will work out,,,

so i guess my question is over all,,,
Which is the bst place for the mirror ,,walking out leaving,, or should it be showing on this larger wall
as you are coming in (with a small table under it)

what are some thoughts.. do you have a a mirror in your foyer? does anyone ? its getting near the holidays and i hope to get this room somewhat together,,, as far as style of room as well , curtains etc
thank you for your replys
sunflower :O)

IMO it is a choice of practical vs. presentation. I think on the way out is more practical (to see what you look like before you face the world) and to have it on the way in is presentational for guests. It's a choice to satisfy one of these requirements Smile

Just one thought, as I have aquariums, putting them is the sunlight promotes algea growth and they have to be maintained more often. A mirror at in entry way was traditional to check your appearance before admitting guests.

Just my two cents, Smile
from the photo, the size of your mirror appears to be more in scale with the wall where the doll case is.
It seems to me that the mirror hung there, with a table below it,
and a few prized objects arranged on the table,
would be a most welcoming first sight upon entering your home.

I wonder, too, if you have considered using more than one mirror in the space?
Why not, for instance, place another (perhaps smaller) mirror on the wall beside the door?

I love the play of light and activity that mirrors add to a room.
I don't have a proper foyer, but have used several mirrors in the small entryway of my home,
coincidentally, one that is seen upon entering, and one just beside the door.

I would definetly strip the wood on the mirror. My friends bought ahouse on the Mississippi River and it had horrble painted bled floor that when we checked was magnificent tounge in groove oak he had it stripped and poliushed it was gorgeous if you had bought the floor it would have cost thosands of dollars. If the wood on the mirror ia not preety all you have lost iss the cost of a can of stripper. Love the pics your home is beautiful
