I missed the first part of the story about the little squirrel, I will look for it.I couldn't find it, can you tell me the story or can someone please bring it back to the top for me to read? He is such a cute little thing. I am a squirrel lover.
Sherry... Here's the link to the original post. http://www.gardenstew.com/viewtopic.php ... life+today
Cherylad...that is one awesome story...You and your husband both deserve a big hug for doing so much for the little squirrel. Do you really think the squirrel will be wild or able to join the others? CPR on a little squirrel, I would of never thought about doing it. The world is a much better place with people like you and your husband. :-D
Sherry... you are too kind. :-D Hubby has raised abandoned squirrels before... he and his ex-wife was registered with their county to take in all sorts of abandoned or hurt animals. We're really hoping he'll be able to make the transition back into the wild. It'll be a slow transition. Like today... the first day we've sat him and his cage outside to get used to the sights and sounds.
Cherylad...it takes special people to help others, animal or humans. :-D If we had more people like you and your husband maybe we wouldn't have all these shootings and deaths in the world.
Funny squirrel story to go along with this. Years ago when I lived in New Mexico, I had a friend that was from Georgia. Anytime he said "squirrel" I thought he said my name (just imagine Cheryl with a long drawn out southern accent). I'd say "what?" He'd say "What do you mean?". I'd say "you just said my name". He'd say "No... I was saying squirrel!" So my nickname amongst close friends was, you guessed it, "Squirrel". One of my friends still sends me little squirrel figurines for Christmas.
That little guy is looking good. You are doing a great job. I am looking forward to the next posts 'n pics.
