Honestly, I am having one of those weeks where I don't know if I am coming or going, so I will catch up with all the postings later...but in the meantime, I managed to grab an hour to go picking on the allotment and thought I would share the bounty with you all. Who wants to come for supper? Very Happy

- todays toms, they are slowing down now but I am still picking this amount every few days.

Sweetcorn from a very late sowing, 12 cucumbers from one vine!! Am loosing the will to live where cucumbers are concerned!!

Big carrots with no fly damage as they are late ones. A couple have been nibbled at the end by sluggues, but that can be cut off.

And the overall harvest. A good days picking, which leaves me with Friday to do some serious weeding on the plot!!

Nicely presented too EJ if I may add. I'm coming over for dinner in about an hour, is that ok? I'll use the Gnome Catapulter (TM) to launch me over to Essex. Have the net set up to catch me Mr. Green

What in heavens to you do with all of this food?!

I'm waiting, net in hand! Smile

Two thirds of the toms get roasted slowely in the oven, then pulped and frozen in portions. The plan is to have 52 portions of frozen toms as we eat a lot of tom sauce based dishes throughout the year.

Sweetcorn, number one son will have one for supper, the others will go in the freezer. The beans are going into a chicken and bean stew for our supper tonight. It is the cucumbers I am having difficulty getting rid of. Am going to have a go at cucumber soup!!

Great veggies I have to take a rain check on dinner have to work Sad EJ slice those cucumbers long ways salt and pepper them.I myself roll them in flour and place them in hot oil and fry them golden brown .Place on paper towels and drain ,some spray a baking dish with cooking spray and bake. They taste as good as squash.

Imagine what we could do if we all got together for supper. I just put a big lamb in the frezer and some beef. Your veg would go really well with it.

What a fab idea muddy. Well, for supper we had multi coloured chicken stew! Multi coloured due to yellow and green courgettes, the bright stems of the rainbow chard, red, white and green dried kidney beans, long thin green beans, white and brown wild rice, red from a couple of skinned chopped tomatos and the cream coloured chicken! It was delicious, and there is enough for me to have some for lunch tomorrow!! Perfect.
