Here are two pictures of tiger rattlesnakes which a friend of Dan's moved from his work area last week. It is about 3 feet long and has seven visible rattles. They are very poisonous. Dooley
In the first picture he was curled up in the bottom of a plastic bucket for transport.
In the second picture he was on the ground in a new area away from traffic. It had been in the parking lot. Dooley

Snakes are beautiful but they give me the creeps just never liked them. Nice pics

I love snakes. Used to catch them and bring them proudly to my mother. She didn't have the same feelings about them as I did. The tiger rattler is beautiful.

Just look at those beautiful markings!!! I adore snakes and have never had a fear of them. I'm so glad that 'your' Tiger Rattler wasn't killed but released instead in a safe area.

Is a beautiful snake but I'm very afraid of most snakes.We have Copperheads here in the area and they can kill you are make you wish you were dead.We have rattlers too just not near as many.

A lot of places here have catch and release plans. The fire departments will come and remove them from your yard. The one I found in my yard was released elsewhere. Not everyone can do it. It's scary to me. Dooley

That is a beautiful snake. I don't care for them, but would never hurt one unless it were necessary.

I don't know how I would react because I never encountered one. St. Patrick drove them out of Ireland after all

I can handle garden snakes but am very frightened by others. I call Gene and he removes them somewhere else. I never really enjoyed finding worms in my boys pants pockets. The snake is very pretty to look at but you can keep it Dooley. Wannabe

My father used to kill rattlers on sight when he was on the other side of the Cascade Mountains. Even though I'm not fond of venomous snakes I always was sad to know this about him.
Those are incredible pictures and I sure am glad I got to see them.

That is a beautiful snake Dooley!! My in laws have rattlesnakes on their place and they are like 6 feet long and as big around as a man's upper arm!! Really scary!!!I like to look at them in pics but not for real!! Although I will pick up a grass snake and play with it!!!

Those of you in rattlesnake country probably already know this but I did not until this morning when I read an article by a rancher in a remote area of San Diego County. There is a vaccine for rattlesnake bites in dogs. It lessens the reaction and buys you precious time until you can get to the vet. The writer of said article claims that four of her dogs have been saved by this vaccine. Just thought I'd mention it in case it is of use to anyone.

I didn't know about the vaccine for dogs Muddy. Mind you we have no rattlesnakes here in Scotland so we'd have very little use for it.  It must be a real boon though for folks in rattlesnake territory -especially those with working dogs. Thanks for the info.
