Can someone please tell me what kind of plant this is? The flower is purple with 5 petals and about the size of a vinca bloom. It is about a foot and a half tall. The branches are woody. Thank you in advance.

Great, I call this yesterday today and tomorrow. Brunfelsia pauciflora. Lovely plant no fragrance though, I also live in Louisiana, Baton Rouge to be exact. Mine do well in the ground, and rarely freeze all the way down. I do mulch them heavily in the fall.

Thank you! I'm surprised. I have 3 yest/today/tomorrow plants that were given to me a month ago. None have produced blooms. I didn't recognize the leaves on this new one. How can I get my old ones to bloom like this one?

They usually bloom with a bang first thing in the spring. and then sporadically thru out the summer.
