It reminds me of an Oleander. The leaves look like one .I can't tell how tall it is.I'm not sure of the flowers.I'll check and see.

Oleander is very poisonous and some people are very alergic to it. Even the smell of the flowers can set off a reaction. This is a problem in Phoenix as the stuff can be found all over the city. dr

I think it may be this:

http://bio.bd.psu.edu/plant_web/Fabaceae/Pink_Flowering_Locust_Leaf.html

I can't tell you though if it's the cause of your daughters hayfever. Sad All flowering plants will discharge pollen and if it's the only one with masses of flowers at the moment then it could well be the culprit. It's a real beauty!!! Mr. Green

Yes ,DR it is a very poisonous plant.I'm sorry I forgot to tell that.I was so interested in Iding it.It is very pretty and causes allergies to be so bad.My neighbor cut down a big one when they bought the place across from me.There was a small grandson and his granddad was afraid for him to be around it.

Eileen, I think you have found it. My first thought was a Locust of some sort.

You may be right but the leaves are different to me.We have a black locust around here but it has white flowers and the scent is heavenly.

If the tree trunk, branches in the picture are the ones the flowers are attached to, it is like no oleander I have ever seen.

Oops, actually this is the official Thank You from Norma:

Quote:
My sincere thanks* to all those people who helped identify that pink ,purple tree, that
was giving my daughter such bad hay fever.
It is Spring in Australia, and today ,we have spring rain, so the overwhelming perfume, which is a musk smell, is down today, so she is feeling so much better..
Sincerely
Norma

I'm really pleased to hear that Norma's daughter is felling better today. Let's hope the pollen count stays low for her. Very Happy
