I want to construct some fairy houses over the winter for my fairy garden. Does anyone have fairy houses that they have built? If so I would love to see pics.

Thanks for the link Toni. Those are really cool, very elaborate, and the furniture is cute. I found some on ebay covered in stone that were really nice. I want to use a lot of natural materials, stuff from my own yard. I can't wait to get started on them, but with overtime at work again it won't be too soon.

Wow those fairy houses are quite original (and pricey Shocked). The Fairy Treehouse Transformation Kit is great Mr. Green

I wonder has Bethie attempted anything like this. Judging by her birdhouses I reckon she could give it a good go.

Keep us updated Sharon.

Thanks Eileen, I am going to make some of the twig furniture. We have a willow tree in the back yard. The wood is most pliable in the early spring. Richard and my cousin, Tim, used to make willow furniture, it was very pretty. Of course, somehow, I never did get any made for me. So he will help me with the miniature furniture.

Thanks Bailey. Needless to say I haven't started on them yet. Gotta get going. Those swamp fairies might be coming out of the swamp for the winter and they will have no place to stay.

OK, what's a fairy house? I have a cousin who has a house on Fire Island. Seems like that could qualify.

Sharon the kids and I went on an outdoor adventure and collected willow branches for our fairy house. The kids are so excited especially Sammie. She can't wait to get started. Problem is now that I have the branches I really don't know what to do next.

I'm not sure either. I want to do a stone one, so I thought I would build a square box to attach the stone to, and then do a roof. With the willow branches maybe you could use GE silicone II and attach them to a large can and make a thatched roof. Check out some web sites, and see what you can find. Maybe Google fairy houses construction

Jan, fairy houses are just small structures to put for the wee folks out in the garden. I have swamp fairies that come to visit occasionally and I want to have a few houses for them to stay in. They are, with good reason, scared of the cats and they would feel safer with a house.

Bailey, bark makes good material for the roof, I would spray the whole thing with a good clear sealant when it is done.

Thank you Cajunbelle. I like your idea with the stone. Can I get the GE silcone at Walmart? The kids and I gathered some bark that was falling off of a broken limb. It had green moss growing on it so I think it will look really cool on the roof. We also gathered extra moss to put on the floor inside the house. I'm going to check websites to see if I can figure out an easy way to do all of this.
