On our way home yesterday, DR had the camera out. Here is a picture of the highway north out of Phoenix. It's the only way to Mayer from Phoenix unless you go miles out of the way.

The next pictures is on HWY 69 that goes from I-17 to Mayer and beyond.

It's up hill all the way to Mayer. When we see the next picture we know we are about home.

This smokestack is part of a smelter that was built in the 1800's to melt down gold ore. But, before it was finished one was finished in Humboldt and the one in Mayer was never used. The smelter is build inside the hill. It is now a landmark and preserved. Dooley

Ya know we should do shots about where we live. It is so interesting, at least to me. Thanks Dooley.

Quite interesting how the smokestack was never used. I wonder is it going through a bit of an identity crisis? Poor thing must be wondering why it exists at all Smile

Open roads and blue skies, very nice Dooley.
