I have planted spinach, runner beans and marrow in my garden.
The runner beans have come out but are being eaten by insects a lot.
The spinach has also some out and that is also being eaten a little bit.
The marrow hasn't come yet.

I have also planted a fig tree and some climbing fig bushes. The figs haven't come yet.

As I can't be sure what the pests are B_G munching on your beans and spinach (without a piccie of the damage) I looked up a couple of sites that might help you out.

www.vegetable-gardening-4u.com/pest-control.htm

and

www.homeandgardenmakeover.com/vegetable-garden.html

Hope they are of some use to you.

Cheers.

The slugs have been real bad this year. Put a peice of damp newspaper between the plants. Check to see if they are there in the morning.
