HELP!! Polyphemus Moth seems stuck on Cocoon

    Caterpillar was put in a very small tank and it made it's way up top and created a cocoon.

    After 3 or so weeks it seems to be fluttering around now in there. I don't see any visible holes at either end. I just realized that it helps to add moisture to the cocoon.

    The cocoon seems very dry but we've misted it recently.
    Not sure if we need to intervene.

    To clarify something....did you put the Moth in the tank or the caterpillar?

    sorry caterpillar..

    perhaps the pupa is shaking as a defense mechanism as it only happens when we pick up the case. Seems it needs to be left outside over the winter?

    Garage or porch? still researching now that I've calmed from my panic last night.
