While discussing my ideas for an AZW-related theme garden and the difficulties getting it on paper, a fellow AZW-enthusiast and wargamer suggested I should build a model of my garden, much like you would do a wargame, or architect's model, to a specific scale.
He says there are plenty of materials to create the AZW-aspects, but also the aspects associated with gardens in general, patios, etc.
So, for a larger scale he suggested 1/32 scale, to match in with materials available for the AZW, but there is a smaller scale 1/72, again for the same reasons, but more workable.
He says that everyday objects, not associated with wargaming, modelling, etc., sometimes can surprise you, giving ideas for sculptures, etc., as they look entirely different when placed on a miniature garden.

I wish I was into model building C.J as I am fascinated by this project. One of our members Capt Kirk builds model ships so maybe he could have some input for you.

There was I quite happily watching UKTV Style Gardens, when a programme called 'Model Garden' came on. Decided to watch it, thinking model meant show garden and such like. But no !
It was as I had been advised above, a scale model of the owner's garden, as it was at present, but with the ability to remove certain unwanted aspects and the adding of new - literally landscaping in miniature, which let the owner see in 4D what their garden would look like on completion. The model was brilliant.
Check out the following site which was mentioned in the programme, it supplies all the materials necessary. http://www.modelshop.co.uk/
If anyone has a go at this, will you let me know how you got on, possibly showing images ?
Great Stuff
C.J.

Further to the above.
If you go to the UKTV Style Gardens website, and to the Model Gardens tv programme section, there is an illustrated guide on how to make a model garden.
Have a look - even out of curiosity

I found the link to the model garden making guide C.J.

Those model gardens look fantastic, 4DModelShop's product selection is mind-blowing. I can very easily see how someone could get lost in this.
Shall you try it C.J.?
