S, lol, I buy a 50# bag of alfalfa pellets every month. So about 12.00. Not too bad. Everything together? a lot.

The bunnies are finally finding new homes. This past month there was an essay for another county for "why you should have a rabbit" and one child wrote one and of course she/he was rewarded with a pet bunny. Hip Hip hooray! That one went on Sunday. Today I put out my FREE BUNNIES sign and I gave away two of them today. Now I have a few more to give away and I will be happy.

Well, it was a pretty nice story to follow. Sorry that it has been so expensive for you.

Barb, run right over I still have 6.
S, they haven't been too bad. I get all that wonderful fertilizer.

I just gave away another one. She needs to get a cage and will come back tomorrow.

With Easter just around the corner, I bet they will find homes quickly.
Nice job on keeping them alive and healthy over your harsh winter.

Funny you say that, Cheryl....it is coming up and the comment was made twice yesterday, but mostly they are not. The one last night was a 4-H project, one was to be a housepet for a handicapped child and the other was for a 20yo daughter who has always wanted a bunny. A grandma stopped looking, but needed to make sure with the parents before she got one as an easter present. I can't believe they all made it. I have had people tell me they are fragile and others say they are a hardy type of baby. Maybe it all depends on the mother and her health.

Barb, I am down to 5... I has someone stop while I was typing last night and forgot to change the number.

I just have to tell you about these animals. I used to breed rabbits and in my store I used to give them away for free. All of a sudden I was finding my adult in a box outside my store in the Winter. No food and no water.

I thought that was horrible. The answer for me was to charge the people $5.99. That took care of the problem. The parents took better care of the animals that they paid money for. Isn't that stupid????

I, of course, have a problem when adults aren't responsible for their animals. In their eyes money is more important.

I am not saying that carolyn giving her wabbits away is a bad thing. I just was a bad thing for me and my wabbits.

I thought about that too, Barb. I had a couple of people I encouraged them to just think about it....I don't think they would have been good animal keepers, myself.
