Hi i'm trying to find out which style or period the wallpaper in my lounge belongs to. I'm not saying it's necessarily original of the period, but i quite like it and intend to keep it and style the room accordingly.
I've been searching the net for days with no luck.
The verticle stripe pattern is repeated every 7 inches, the design basically consists of 6 vertical stripes, with a sliver/white narrow gilt stripe acting as border. another beige narrow stripe inside that is with a repeated leaf motif, anther white stripe inside, which borders the main pattern which is a 3 inch beige stripe with raised white floral pattern. it appears to be some kind of acorn or supported closed cup flower, with leaves coming up around the sides. the floral pattern is continuous in the vertical centre stripe, with the actual acorn thingy repeated every 8 inches or so. I've tried to attach an image but don't understand how it works. doh!

ok the paper is much paler in real light, it's a soft beige or champagne colour. I'd like to know which period/style the paper belongs to. Also any ideas what the flower/plant is supposed to be?
I have an art deco tiled fire surround that i would like to tie in with this paper somehow. I'm guessing they're not of the same period, but as the fire surround is fairly simple and still stylish, i think maybe a little stencil work might do the trick.
I also have to get some art work for the walls,so it's important i get the period right.

My parents have a similar type of wallpaper in their home as well. I've searched on the Web to try and find out what period it is from but it is proving harder than I thought. Lowlife am I correct in saying that the wallpaper is raised/bumpy?

yes it is, i don't think it's anything fancy, just reproduction stuff i would think. The stripes fit in with some of the victorian paper i've seen, but i've still no idea on the flower/plant. Thanks for trying anyway.
