    Hi:

Does anyone know if hardwood cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator instead of burrying them in the garden for the winter. Thanks.

Hi Brain and welcome to GardenStew.

In answer to your question yes I have heard of this being done. As far as I can remember it involved taking cuttings from a dormant source and storing them in the vegetable crisper area of your refrigerator. I will have a look around and track down where I read this and will be back with some more detailed info soon. Hang tight for now ;)

two very interesting sites eileen my hardwood cuttings have been a bit hit and miss but will say I have a flowering current that I have been using to fill the holes in a hedge(which has just about everything in it )and I have just stabbed it into the ground and it has taken I am sure this is just pure luck.
My poor old mum bless her when she was alive used to jab just about everything into the ground and it grew not very technical but it worked ............mostly.
