'Tis the season . . . ?
Yes, I suppose it is, our first card arrived today.
And, on the decorating front, my neighbors are way ahead of me, as usual
although, they haven't yet added the Santa figure which perches up in the tree
with these howling hunting hounds beneath.
It's a cute display,
I just thank my lucky stars that they haven't thought (yet) to add sound effects
Meanwhile, in my front yard,
(Gee, I wish our grass was as nice as theirs )
the Maple is at peak
and the obligatory pansy.
My pumpkins and Mums are still on display,
I guess I'd better get with the program, huh?

What a glorious tree your maple is Zuzu!!! Mine has lost all it's leaves now.
I always see pansies as having little faces. They remind me of pugs or a shi tzu dogs.
I've never see a Christmas display like the one you neighbour has. It's going to look really amusing once Santa gets stuck in that tree.

What a marvellous maple Zuzu, very striking
Do you think you will be able to take a photo for us when Santa is stuck up the tree?

I use pansies and snaps in the winter garden, Glenda, and they do fine through freezes.
Zuzu, I really do wanna come live at your house. What beautiful color.
Christmas yard art is fine if I can't see it.

Any fall color is l o n g gone here Zuzu. That is a GORGEOUS maple.
I guess I'd better get started on my cards and decorations. The weather here has been so mild that it doesn't feel like Christmas at all! They say the weather is going to get more seasonal starting Friday.

Glenda, check with your county extension agent. We get occasional light freezes at night, but it has not stayed below freezing during the day since 1989. We use petunias, snaps, pansies, kale as winter color, but I don't know how far north you are.
