I added an extra light out back because they were still digging up the big flower bed. And added more moth balls since the others have practically melted away. Luckily, all plants have been spared any serious damage. I check every morning before leaving for work to make sure a plant hasn't been dug up. Laying out there in the heat would surely kill it before I get home in the evening.
I did have to laugh at myself... adding light... keep them away? Or point them in the right direction? :D

They are still digging. I even added another brighter light out there.
I looked up that product that was mentioned in another earlier thread Whole Control Repellent. It appears to be primarily used for moles. So do you think this would help deter them?
And then I found mention of a product called Yard Guard. It's 100% organic.
I have to go to Lowe's today... might was well look to see if they have something.
I'm going to try another box of moth balls... and this time see if I can find his burrow and toss some in there too!
If this doesn't work, I'm thinking of ordering the Yard Guard. It's not too expensive... and I really need to get rid of this thing or at least get him to stop digging in my flower beds.

Chery I was wondering if coyotes hunt them little diggers? If so I would recommend getting some Shake-away. I know I have mentioned in a different thread last year when we had a woodchuck problem.
It doesn't smell to good but it sure keeps them critters away.
I have tried the moth ball thing with chipmunks that where digging holes around are home foundation. I threw them in their holes and they just threw them back out. I would put them in their holes and plug up the holes and the next day they would just dig threw the moth balls and reopen their hole. :-x
So I trapped them and found them a better home. But I bet that the Shake-away would work. :stew1:

Funny you mention coyotes... there were two last night right up to the fence! I don't know if they hunt them or not.
I bought some stuff at the store today supposed to repel all sorts of critters. It's people and pet safe... just smells bad/strong, which armadillos do not like. But it's not too bad to me... no worse than moth balls.
I used the whole container. If this doesn't deter it, I'll try the other brand.
And then if that doesn't work, I guess I can try trapping & relocating it. But I really think another would just along.
It's so frustrating to see my beds all torn up. But still, luckily, it hasn't killed any plants.
