|
Since I had an extra day off today, I got the Christmas decorations packed up. The tree is down and out in the back yard for the birds. My husband took down the outdoor lights. Everything is packed up except my snowman collection that I leave up for awhile yet. Hubby carried the boxes up to the loft in the garage - I just have to organize them at some point.

All we have left are the christmas cards still taped along the bannister and some snowmen in one of the bathrooms...oh, and a giagantic light-up bethlehem star still attached to the deck.

I'm hoping I will come home from work one day and a good fairy will have taken care of it. Or maybe I will just leave them and be the first one to have decorations up next year. DR says he's taking Santa and Reindeer down tomorrow. There are a lot of tomorrows in a year. I wonder which one he meant. Dooley

Ian says ours will stay up until Saturday - hmmm he obviously doesn't know me then. I start putting little things away on a daily basis until all that's left is the tree to dismantle and he never seems to notice.

I have put away the GardenStew Xmas logo for another year but strangely I have neglected to change my Xmas avatar. Hmmmm maybe I am getting too attached to the red outfit and the white beard. Maybe I can become the all year round Santa gnome?

All down except for the cards. Like you Eileen, I do a little everyday, but when he arrived home from work last night and the Christmas tree was standing in the lounge naked, he knew that Christmas was over. It is a relief - I adore Christmas, but I also love to get everything straight and back to normal in the new year.

There is one wreath left on the front porch. Maybe I'll get it down today...or maybe tomorrow. At least I unplugged the lights so it no longer lights up at night.

I thought I had it all put away but found a few things still out.
Frank you could keep your red outfit through February saying you are the Valentine gnome.
