Every spring filament algae grows like crazy in our small pond Shocked ,
The frogs love it (and lay milliards of eggs in it Rolling Eyes) but I'm not so keen.

I've just recently read about pouring beer into the pond water
as a remedy to certain types of algae bloom. Very Happy

Now I'm wondering if this might work in my pond, and, if so;
how much should I use (guess-timating the pond to hold 500-600 gallons)?
and Confused is it safe to use with goldfish and desirable plants?

Buy the cheapest beer possible. Pour in a bottle, wait, drink a bottle of the good beer in the fridge, have another. Pour cheap stuff in pond. Do it every week, three bottles. Do the same for your pond. If it doesn't work, use Microbe-lift PL according to the directions on the bottle. You should not need it until spring tho.
Oh, and yes the beer is safe. So is the Microbe-lift
