On the last day of my 2006 Xmas vacation I took a run down the fields with my parent's dogs Sheppy and Jinx. Here is what we saw:
Note: these photos were taken from my phone so therein lies the reason for the poor quality

Beautiful countryside Frank. That's a shame about your great grandparents house...how old would that building be?

Oh Frank I don't know how you could bear to leave all that open space behind you. I was born in a town and now that I live in the country I wouldn't, and couldn't, go back again. I enjoy the peace and quiet here too much.
I love the piccies of Sheppy and Jinx - especially Jinx!!! The horses are superb and take me back to the days when I used to ride.
What a pity your great grandparents house is now in ruins. I wonder what stories it could tell us if it could speak?

I really have no idea how old the house is, let's just say pretty darn old. It's only inhabitant now is a tree growing up through the centre of it I'll ask my parents if they know exactly.

Mama Sheep and her little lambies are just precious.
I love mom's expression in that last photo, I think you captioned it perfectly.

Great pictures Frank, thanks. I would love to live out where you could look almost forever before seeing a house.
The lambs are adorable. Is the colored marking on the sheep to let you know which are the ewes? Does it wash out of the wool and what do they do with the wool?
Jinx and Sheppy are cuties. Jinx looks like the Springer Spaniel Lisa has.
It is a shame your grandparents home couldn't have been kept livable. It makes a great place to sit and think about the people who came before you tho.

Now I was never the farmer Toni but that marking is to show that they belong to our family. It is normally a blue K. If a sheep breaks out into another field we can sort them back quite easily. The mark would wear off gradually over time but never completely disappear. They will be sheared before it has time to wear off
