I had never had these before this past summer. Take 2 or 3 summer squash ( crook neck) wash them and then slice into about 1/8th inch slices. Dip into your favorite batter mix. We use a product called Bakin Magic that we use for oven chicken. I like the spices in it and the flavor. I dip the slices in a little milk and drain and then coat with the batter. Cook in hot vegetable oil untill they start to turn brown and then cook the other side. Drain on paper towel. These are so good. They taste like candy! Last week I fixed 2 squash and almost ate one whole one myself while I fried up the second one. The next time I will have to fix 3. Two for the meal and one for the cook!

I really MUST try to get a packet of squash seeds and give them a try this year. It's something we can't buy over here so it may be a while until I can attempt your recipe CK.

Hmmmm, yes that good food! Love fried squash and zucchini. Don't eat as much fried as I use to -- but every once in a while I do.

Fried squash is one of my all-time faves - especially good pan-fried zucchini slices with a dab of sour cream... mmmmm

These were the yellow grook neck that I had. Last summer we went to south central Georgia and our friends down there fixed them. But they diddn't dip them in any thing. I like them better in the coating that I use for the chicken. Our local Kroger store carries them which really surprised me. But I am definately going to plant some this summer!

I can get my family to eat friend squash but not squash cooked any other way. We have cut back on fried foods but do still have good fried okra and squash sometimes.
