I have had these cups for several years and haven't used them in quite a while, but each one is indicative of me in someway so I just couldn't bring myself to give them away.
Halloween is my favorite holiday
Snowflake has been my email name since I first got an email account because I am a snow flake
I love coffee, is used to drink 2-3 pots a day but have cut down to less than a pot a day this past year.
My motto is Think Snow
I found the plates at Goodwill and the tiny cup/saucer on the very top is an ornament that Starbucks was selling around christmas 2005.
When the weather clears up it will be out in the hollyhock bed.

Very cute. I wish I had thought of that a year ago when we were cleaning out my mother's home. We threw out a lot of old mugs that nobody wanted.

Now that's a great idea!!!! I always end up with odd cups and mugs around the house but never knew what to do with them - until now.

Frank, it didn't take long at all, maybe 20 minutes. It took longer to remember to actually get it done.
Richard, of course you can steal the idea. The big base just seemed like it would provide better stability.
I just realized that the two sets of coffee cups and saucers that came with my dishes were given away a long time ago since I couldn't think of any reason why I would ever need them  Never fails does it?

I love it Toni. Totems are a great way to use glass pieces that mean something to you that you just don't want lying around the place. A large plate at the bottom is the best way to stabilize a free standing totem. Old microwave plates work good and you can cover the plate with mulch if you don't want it showing.

Toni I just came across this post. What a good idea for cups I like but cant give away (gifts,picking some up just cuz, ect). The cups are piling up  and I'm running out of room. What did u use to hole it together?

Gizmo, this should help. Toni did not put hers on a pole, it is free standing, just use a large plate or old microwave plate for the base and cover with mulch or dirt for stability.

Gizmo,
Like Sharon said I used a large plate on the bottom for stability, then the cups and saucers are glued together with Liquid Nails. You can find Liquid Nails at Home Depot, Lowes or any large hardware store, great stuff for holding things together that will be outside.
My oldest daughter Lisa made herself one too, I really need to get a picture of it to show everyone.
