I finally got a chance today to look through the many seed catalogs that have arrived. It appears that the majority of things I want are in a catalog from Johnny's Selected Seeds from Winslow Maine. Has anyone ordered from this catalog - if so good results or not? I have never gotten this catalog before so am looking for anything good or bad about them. Thanks.

Polly I'm afraid I've never heard of them as they are an American company but I did find this on the net about them:

Maybe it will help you make up your mind about ordering from them. At least they let you see the negative responses from people which most companies won't. I found another site that said they'd been established since 1973 if it's any help.

I have never heard of them either, I have a friend who lives in Maine, I could ask if she knows anything about them. In the meantime, any chance of getting their website from you so I can maybe order a catalog too????

Thanks for the website Polly.
Just looking around their website I found seeds for plants I want that I have not seen in other catalogs and certainly not in stores around here.
I ordered a catalog and already have begun my list of have to haves.

My husband is now looking at his part of the catalog - the vegetables - so I am sure we will be ordering soon.

Saw Johnny's in the subject line and had to reply.
I have ordered from Johnny's many times over the years and must say I have had nothing but wonderful, speedy and correct service. I'm surprised more have not heard of them, they are indeed a fine company. In all the orders I've ever placed, I had but one concern (which was pretty much nitpicking on my part) that was addressed quickly to beyond my satisfaction.
Refer them? Indeed. Absolutely. And then some. Hope this helps.

Order a-way! They are a very well-established co. Great service and excellent seeds. They do have a great selection as well!

I did place an order. It came today and rather quickly. Wish I could plant now but we have way too much snow to even think about it yet.

Here is another good seed ordering place.. Not a large selection, but decent prices, and postage.
ValueSeed.com
I ordered there 3 times already..
