As a sweetner? To cook with? As a sandwich spread rather than Jam?

If you don't use honey why?
Thanks
Very Happy Al

I occasionally use honey as a sweetener in porridge Al. I love the stuff and I hear that it is very good for you also.

Actually that's a question I always wanted to ask you, what is ýour honey intake like?

I use it as a sweetner. Especially like Southwestern honey. Also like the very clear, light sourwood honey from the deep south. We always use honey in breadmaking.

I use two teaspoons of honey every morning in my tea. Kare cooks with it also. I eat peanutbutter and honey sandwiches all the time. I also take a table spoon of honey ever night at bed time.

Very Happy Al

MMMMM, wouldn't want to have to do without honey.
I'm looking forward to the local garden stand opening so I can buy it there.

I like honey and lemon in my tea.
Honey on toasted and buttered English muffins.
Peanutbutter and banana sandwiches with honey.

And a tablespoon or so of honey mixed with some slivered almonds
really helps me get to sleep at night, tryptophan, you know.

We use a lot of clear honey to cook with and also on buttered toast. I much prefer it to jam as it is easier on the stomoch.

Oh yes, we not only eat honey quite a bit,
but we keep honeybees. I'm not sure about a
couple of hives after this super cold winter,
but at last count we had nine hives.

They are a lot of fun. We have become used to
them, but other people who come to visit us are
paranoid about bees buzzing about.

Hubby wants to make mead this summer, hopefully
for sale. We'll have to see how it goes.

I find warming up a glass(use a cup in the microwave though) of orange juice with one tablespoon of honey added to it, helps a sore throat. It's the first thing I make in the morning when a cold/sore throat is on the rise.

I used to have some bees (five hives was the most). I love honey and use it in/on/with lots of stuff including the peanut butter as someone mentioned. I buy it now from one of the local beekeepers so I can get the pure stuff, not some of that processed and mixed with imports mess, (one of my 'soap box' subjects I tend to rant & rave about when started). So, keep up the good work and treat them bees right, ya' hear!

I roast chicken with rosemary and honey! It is good. I buy it from one of my customers.
I've heard some people say they would never eat bee spit. Ridiculous. I point out that if they eat the overly processed foods from the market they are already eating some pretty disgusting stuff.

I use honey to make mead. I posted some instructions in the Recipes and Cooking section. Check it out here http://www.gardenstew.com/about4564.html
