I do not have access to a camera right now but I will post a picture ASAP! I have had this plant for about 7 years now, and I have not seen anything even remotely close to this. I got it when it was a seedling about two inches tall. It has a woody base about 2 inches tall and about 1/2 inch wide. The green fleshy stalk has 5 sides(kind of like a cactus), and on the edge of these sides there is.......for lack of a better word orange-brown "fuzzies" that have started to fall off at the bottom. on the sides are bean shaped beige patches where the leaves have fallen off. above some of these patches are little green spikes that look almost like the new leaves at the top of the plant.
There are also the places where flowers have fallen off, and some small white circles above some of them. the leaves are 4-8" (including the stalk which is about half the overall length) with a tapered oval shape. The plant blooms right above the leafs stalk where it connects to the main stalk in pairs. The buds are teardrop shaped and they don't open up, they just send the white stamens and pistols out the very end. The seeds look like small avocados (the kind with bumpy skin). They are egg shaped and on the wider end it has a small white circle, where it was attached to the bud, and the narrower end is pointy. it has a noticable seam aroud the middle of it. I tried to be as desciptive as possible, but if you have any other questions, feel free to ask! OH!!! I was told that the plant came from Vietnam by the person that I got it from.

Hi Thorin and welcome to our forums. Would you mind if I copied your post and sent it to a friend who lives in Thailand? He may be able to help ID the plant for you if it comes from Vietnam as he has books on garden and indoor plants from there.

OK I've asked Joe if he can help you out. Very Happy Will let you know as soon as I get a reply from him Thorin. He's not the fastest person when it comes to answering e.mials though so it may take a while. Rolling Eyes If you could manage to get a piccie it really would be helpful.
I'll get back to you ASAP.

Thorin I can't see any of your pictures. Sad Such a pity as Joe hasn't been able to ID your plant just from the description you posted.
