I can't see a whole lion just its head. So either Lions head mountain or head mountain. There again maybe Frank is right and it's simply called lion mountain.

Mmmmm Well it looks like a volcanic plug but I doubt if that's anything to do with its name. Maybe dog mountain as it could be a dog lying down. My very first thought was that it resembled the Bass Rock here in Scotland. I think Prince Charles would call it a carbuncle!! 
I'm stuck - any chance of a clue?

It is a perfect elephant .It jumped right out at me when I first saw the picture even the little tail shows up.
