Hey guys,

This is CajunBelle and Reggaefan's daughter, right now their computer won't start up at all, it just goes to a fatal exception screen after startup, so they may be gone for a while. If anyone has a Windows98 Bootdisk they can loan us, will you PM Reggaefan's account?

Yes, I downloaded a boot disk from that site, but the computer won't let me load it. I can pretty much only access anything via a DOS prompt from the startup screen, even when I set the BIOS to load directly from the floppy.

Can you navigate to the floppy disk drive from the DOS prompt i.e. type cd A: , and call a startup file or similar directly?

I've tried, but it keeps telling me that DOS can't execute the program. I'm getting some more floppy disks today to try again.

I think you should also be able to boot from the Windows 98 CD-ROM if you set CD-ROM as the first read device in BIOS. I'm not sure about that one though.

Let's hope you can get it up and running soon for Richard and Sharon as we miss them already. Sad I have withdrawal symptoms - I'll need another fix of your dad's poetry before long or I could run amok here on the forums!!!! Laughing Laughing
