Here are a couple pictures... the one of the elephant in the water is from Yala National Park in Sri Lanka. The other is from Tanzania. (Yes, we were close it)

Hope you enjoy.

If I could figure out how to post video I'd post the video when one of the elephants charged us. It was one of the scariest experieces I've ever had. Other scary moments were driving up on a pride of lions (it was dark and all of a sudden there were five lions about just outside my jeep... yikes), doing a "walk" looking for Rhino's (something about being on foot looking for rhino's) and then of course the time I tried to sneak up on an elk through the water (fyi, you can't hide very well behind cattails) I never thought it might chase me. I learned they can run through water much easier than I can) dumb, dumb, dumb)

The elephant is a fascinating creation isn't it. Show me one person who doesn't like elephants, quite rare I'd imagine. Thanks the fantastic photos BBB as always.

If you want to upload video I suggest you upload it to YouTube http://www.youtube.com/ and then we could display it on the site here. Give it a look BBB Wink

Thank you. They both are great. But I am especially fond of the first one. I've got quite the elephant collection here. People that don't know me well ask if I am a Republican when the see them all.

I like the first one better too. The second one was the first time that I ever saw an elephant in the wild so it will always be special to me. The trip to Sri Lanka is the one that made me go to Africa. I loved it!

Toni - what's next? as in pictures? or in trips? Smile

for pics, I'm open to requests. For trips, leaving tomorrow morning for Amman, Jordon then to the Dead Sea for two nights then to Petra and then back here.

Netty, if being that close would make your heart race, just imagine it starting to charge and the ranger throwing the jeep in reverse and the guide grabbing his rifle! yikes!!!! whew... that was too close

Magnificent!!
And the word hardly does justice to either the elephants or your photos of them.
Thanks for sharing your pictures and experiences with us, Andrew.

Anrew I'm almost lost for words - your photographs are fantastic!!! I may have wanted to be on the trip with you but not when you were being charged by an elephant, overwhelmed by the closeness of lions or chased by a elk. Shocked As for looking for rhino's on foot - rather you then me. Rolling Eyes However, you have such an intersting life that I can hardly wait to see more of your pictures and hear about your adventures. Very Happy
