|
Richard was in New Orleans today and I had dog duty. It is like a three ring circus when you are alone and it is time for the dogs to go out. Basil and Nibbler have to be put on runs and to do that they have to go on a leash. I was taking Basil down the steps and trying not to let Nibbler out. Well down Basil went, jerking my hand off the front door, which is metal, at the exact moment I turned to check where Nibbler was and WHAM, the front door slams right smack in the middle of my forehead. It didn't break the skin, by I have a nice egg and it hurts like heck. Basil also got my seedlings this morning. I moved them under the tree with a large cake lid over them to protect them in case it rained. I didn't realize they were within his reach. I looked out of Mom's window and he was digging away at them. KILL BASIL at midnight, I am going to sacrifice him to the great plant god to bring back my seedlings. I think 3 are going to survive. This is my yellow hibiscus and I have had so much trouble with them. Woe is me. I think I will go to bed and sleep until the morning.

Oh, Sharon....I am stuck between a rock and a hard place here. Part of me is so glad the jinx has moved on but part of me is so sad that it caused you pain.
And this is just day one of your days off
Hope the headache goes away quickly, take care.
Poor Basil, he was such a sweet doggy I am sure he will be missed...but not by you and the seedlings

Ouch Sharon that sounds pretty painful, be sure to keep the ice on it. Basil sure has been a devil today. I wonder would a sacrifice work, hmmm

I don't think the headache is going anywhere too quickly. I took tylenol and it did not help at all. I told Regina if I die from a cranial fracture in my sleep the only insurance money she gets is enough to send her and Basil to the deepest, darkest, remotest spot in Siberia.

If you call him Holy Basil during the sacrifice it might be accepted by the great plant god. Holy Basil has been and is used as an offering in many cultures so you have a good chance of it working out fine for you.

Sharon - hope your headache subsides soon and you can enjoy the rest of your days off. And I'm sure Basil didn't mean to damage your seedlings so how about you give him another chance - of course with a muzzle on him.

I hope you managed to go junking without a headache Sharon. Isn't it always the way - you get a few days off and something like this has to happen. Hope the swelling goes down soon.

Sorry to hear about your "run-in" with the door. Hope it didn't ruin your "junking" day out!

Thanks everyone, the headache was gone this morning, but it is still very tender and a little swollen. I will post about the day in another post.

Glad you are feeling better, Sharon. And kiss that naughty Basil. And be sure to get him a new toy.

Jan, Basil is forgiven, and he got a new tennis ball from the sale. I have even kissed his nasty little self. My head is still as sore as Hades this morning and a little swollen too, but that shall pass.
