dr bought me a scanner so though I have a lot to do today, I have messes around all morning on the computer. I installed it and did a sample scan and lost the picture. But, I discovered I did not actually scan it, just previewed it. Now, I think I have it figured out. Hopefully next time it will work exactly as it is supposed to work. I decided that I needed to condense my pictures so I moved each month's worth of pictures into files. That didn't go as smoothly as I would have liked but I guess it was my fault. It couldn't be the computer. Computers only do what you tell them, right? Anyway it's all done. I may have to search for some pictures but eventually after a few days I may find them. Now, on to other things. Dooley

I really want to get around to scanning in all of my family's old photos. It would be terrible if some were lost or destroyed so maintaining a digital backup by scanner is on the to-do list.

That's the reason for the scanner. I have a lot of family pictures that I need to scan and then put on a disc or e-mail them to Andy. He's going to make a dvd slide show out of them. I guess I will make a backup disc of them, too. I need to make an index of the pictures in the folders but I have to have some instruction on that so it will wait until Dan is less busy. Dooley

I'm not too computer literate so Dan usually shows me what to do and I have a book where I write down each step. Andy is doing the slide show with all the family pictures. Brothers and sisters are all supposed to be sending their pictures. Dooley
