The flower looks a bit like a Cherry blossom. Maybe look under Flowering Almond (Prunus glandulosa 'Rosa Plea'). It usually grows more like a shrub around here so it is just a guess.

From what I can see in your photograph it looks as though the stems of the plant are woody. It may very well be an small variety of ornamental cherry tree that is blooming. Some of them only grow to a few feet high so it could be a young sapling.

DF This dwarf Mexican petunia is called the 'Texas Superstar.' As I can't find any specific Texas petunias maybe this is the one. Confused

I've also included this website that you may find interesting.

Texas Superstar isn't the name of the plant, it is a designation...plants that grow well under the hot, drought conditions you find in Texas, are labeled 'Texas Superstars' by a committee at Texas A & M University.

I have never seen one either. The Mexican Petunia is probably the closest there is since the growing conditions in Mexico and parts of Texas are pretty identical. And it is the most common one found in nurserys and garden centers here.
Since the common names can be very confusing, I would bet that somewhere along the line someone didn't like calling it the Mexican Petunia and started calling it the Texas Petunia.

You're probably right Toni. Over here we do the same thing with common plant names - change them to suit ourselves!!! Rolling Eyes
