Actually bramble patches like that are a safe haven for birds and other small critters. They can hide from Hawks and the like. I would just leave them unless they are causing a problem of some sort.

Randy's grandmother made lots of Dewberry cobbler, his family loved it but it is way too sweet for me.

Maybe you could contact a boy scout troop that might be looking for a community service type of project. I know some of them around here are willing to do yard work for us older people, especially women who aren't able to do the hard tasks themselves.

That bramble patch looks a lot like our second back garden Glenda. Ian is going to tackle it when he next has time off work as he wants to plant veggies there. We'll be leaving the beech hedge though as well as some trees so that the wildlife won't suffer too badly.

We have banks of brambles like that around our allotment. Not only do they provide lovely puddings for us, but the birds go crazy for them. Also they are so dense and prickly that they create a free barb wire fence to keep possibly intruders out.

The corner of our place is like that too. When they cleared it we asked them to pile everything away from any trees so we could burn. They piled it up in the middle of a circle of about 8 lovely oaks, a big, huge pile of brush. Now the berry vines and grape vines have taken it over, the cats love it and it is a safe haven for them away from dogs. If we ever do clear it out it will be a wonderful place to grow stuff bc of all of the rotten trees.

My mom has a brambly patch like that. She put a low fence across it and hung a sign that says "Habitat for NonHumanity", painted with snakes and such. But then up here none of our snakes and such are poisonous!
