I got a bunch of trumpet vine seeds given to me and planted a few. Can anyone tell me how long they may take to sprout and how to care for the young seedlings. I have read they are very invasive type vines, but just love the looks of them and so do the hummingbirds.

Glendann, I know alot of people dont care for the vine, since it can be so invasive but I plan in putting it in a cimmney block when I plant it...so the roots have truble spreading. The block is about 12 inches high so if I bury it atleast 10 inches I shouldnt have a problem with it atleast for a few years...lol

From the looks of the above info, the seeds need to be nicked and kept cold (40 degrees) for 60 days to get them to germinate.

Let us know how they come out.

That just might work ok beechance if something does't scatter the seeds.Good luck with them.Lots of people love them.I do too just afraid to get them started in my yard as I have so much wild things now and the blackbery vines are trying to come up everywhere.I hope they bloom for you.
