I went for a walk around the property today,
and there it was ,
the official last Daffodil of spring

I'll really miss them,
the several varieties I have have provided flowers since January.

But I saw lots of other things blooming,
so I guess I'll get over the Daffodil thing pretty quick. Mr. Green

Beside the front door, there are Amaryllis

and there are Azaleas everywhere,
this is one of my favorites.

All of the fruit trees are blooming, too

Santa Rosa Plum

Peach

And the ornamental Cherry,
the sky was soooo clear today

Most of the Camellias are finished blooming, too,
their last blossoms littering the ground beneath them,
and that's where I saw one of my garden guards on patrol,

now don't get all freaked out, this isn't a snake,
it's a legless lizard. Very Happy

Ophisaurus ventralis ("Eastern Glass Lizard")
Glass lizards can be distinguished from snakes
in that they have movable eyelids and ear openings.
They are called glass lizards because of the way the tail can "shatter" off to prevent capture.

Great pics, Zuzu!! A joy to look at(except the lizard~looks to much like a snake to me). What unusual Amaryllis. I have just planted some red ones for my first time. They were from my Mom's yard. She didn't even know they were there. I surely did. I noticed them last year when she bought the place. I could wait to get my "dirty" little hands on them.

Gorgeous! Still a sea of daffys here - you let us know what those of us a step behind can look forward to. What a fine collection of amaryllis, and the contrast between the cherry blossoms and that blue, blue sky. Very nice.
