Prim, I used 2-part epoxy to glue the lid on,
the brand I used sets up in about 5 minutes,
but I left it to cure for a whole day
before I removed the little block of wood
that I used to keep it propped open at that angle.

I think that other people who've made these
have used other adhesives, maybe GE II, I'm not sure.

** edited to add:
another adhesive that was suggested is called E6000.

What a unique idea - I never would have thought of it. I do like the color and the glass really looks like water coming out.
