i love working with moss. i had a nice old garden bed with boxwood, geraniums and lots of moss years ago, pretty little rocks, little sculptures of ancient gods in it etc,you get my drift.well today i was rubbing buttermilk on my fountain to get the mossy look on it,besides real moss i put on it, and the dog was licking it off as quick as i was putting it on,lol..and then ron tilled near the barn where my azealas are going, and i picked out all the grassy clumps,2 wheel barrels full.
got the rose tree planted and the other geraniums id purchased the other day,and the asters.
the wind today finally died down about 3 pm, and it got warm, i took off my boots and put on sandals and my hat.
i know we'll be carrying in alot this week when the temp goes down in the 20's!but i got to enjoy them some outside this weekend, including my cushions and pillows on the wicker, no rain for awhile maybe(keeping fingers crossed].getting back to the moss
are you a moss fan, i hear you either hate it or love it////

I love moss on old stones and wood but don't like patches of it in the lawn.

I like moss, I didn't realize there were so many different kinds until I saw them at Lowes one day. When I get my fairy garden done I will build a levee around my fairy pond and cover it with moss. It will remind me of the Long Pond, a favorite childhood place.

Kat, there are lots of types but even on a seach I haven't found any true moss taller than about 2 inches max and they don't have root systems much. They get their nutrients from the air amd rain mostly. Maybe I haven't been looking in the right places, if not please tell me where and I will check it out as I do love them.
