This morning a lady gave me these roots or corms. She has no idea what they are. Her grandson brought them to her. He works for a landscaper who was digging them out. He told her they are not iris and they come in all colors, white, red, yellow, etc.
I will plant them and see what grows. But, does anyone have an idea what they are? Dooley

He said they were not irises, but they look like iris rhizomes to me. It will be very interesting to see what they grow up to be. Please keep us posted on their progress Dooley, I am curious now.

They do look a lot like iris roots but as Sharon says it'll be interesting to see exactly what comes up.

They don't look like the Canna I have dug up and replanted over the years. See what looks like a light brown raffia tassel coming from a few of them? The remants of the Canna leaves that die back do not look like that.

Iris doesn't do it either. Well, I'll get them planted as soon as I can. Maybe, I'll put them in the big pot that dan gave me. All I have to do is dig the dead plant out of it and add a bit more garden soil. There are only two roots there. Dooley

This is a bit of a long shot,
but they do remind me of some of the Hedychium rhizomes I've planted.

I agree, those must have been part of a pretty big plant before. I guess only time will really tell
