My peonies breaking through the ground. I love to see the red shoots poke through. This was taken a couple of days ago. With yesterday's and today's warm weather some of the shoots are now 6" tall. I have six of them all the same color a very pale pink with yellow centers.

I can't wait to see them in full bloom, I think they are such gorgeous flowers.

It's so good to see things coming back to life again after winter. My peonies are just about ready to bloom.

Mine usually bloom around the end of May just in time for a heavy rain storm to knock them down.

Another thing that doesn't grow here, but I think they are lovely.

Peonies are Indiana's State Flower There used to be a large peony bush in the front yard of one of the houses at the front of the neighborhood, but they cut it down

I had some large ones at one house where we lived. But, all the peonies I ever saw came with ants. I'm not fond of ants. Dooley

Ya know what? As I was driving past the persons house today, I saw some red shoots poking out that looked just like the picture! The peonies are growing Hmm, if they really dont want them, maybe I should offer to dig it up and take it home? *lol*
I used to be part of Big Sisters of Central Indiana (where girls are matched up with women who act as Big Sisters to the younger girls), and one of my Big Sisters grew peonies, and one day she cut some blooms for me and I put em in a vase ^_^ They lasted quite awhile

It's amazing what warm weather can do. I think these peonies have grown 4 inches since yesterday.
